Short Description:
Frostburg State University, Counseling and Psychological Services, seeks applications for the full-time, exempt position of Training Director to provide overall management and leadership of the training program on the FSU campus with post-Doctoral and Doctoral trainees and/or Master's-level practicum students. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes University System of Maryland benefits package.

Accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at FSU offers a variety of counseling and developmental services to address mental health issues and help facilitate the personal, academic, and career development of students. Confidential individual and group counseling services are provided by Licensed Psychologists, Doctoral psychology interns, and Practicum students. A part-time Psychiatrist provides medication monitoring services.

Description of Ongoing/New Duties:
Reporting to the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, assume responsibility for recruitment, selection, supervision, training, and evaluation of doctoral interns and graduate practicum students. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships within the training community and be responsible for staying abreast of and upholding current laws and practices related to a training program. The Training Director also will provide the broad range of staff psychologist roles at CAPS which include confidential individual and group counseling services, crisis intervention services, outreach programming, and consultation. Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or closely related field with three years of experience preferably in a university counseling center with progressive administrative responsibilities. Active licensure in the State of Maryland within six months of hire is required. Only those who have held a license as a psychologist (in Maryland or another state) for at least two years will be considered. Previous experience in clinical assessment, individual and group therapy, crisis management, training, supervision, consultation, and administration and management of program development. Strong organizational skills and exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and flexibly as a member of a clinical team. Multicultural competency and the ability to work with a culturally diverse client population.

Preferred Qualifications:
Five or more years of post-degree experience with two or more years of university counseling center experience and two or more years of experience providing clinical supervision across a breadth of theoretical orientations to therapists in training. Current licensure as a Maryland psychologist (or equivalent in another state) held for three or more years. Knowledge of APPIC membership requirements and guidelines for doctoral and post-doctoral programs.
