Applications are currently being accepted for a Senior Human Resources Technician in the Employee Relations Department within the Human Resources Division, located at the District Administrative Offices. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Please note: Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Senior Human Resources Technician This particular assignment is located in the Human Resources Employee Relations Department. The position is responsible for assisting the Director with a wide variety of human resources functions related to job analysis, classification, position control, compensation, and labor relations. Qualifications include: Demonstrated knowledge of applicable sections of California Education Code and other local, State, and federal laws. Demonstrated knowledge of a wide variety of Human Resources policies, practices, and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of basic research procedures and principles, including problem solving and research techniques. Demonstrated ability to review and assist with employee performance management and responding to questions on evaluation and discipline; oversee investigations by supervisors and develop draft communication regarding employee performance issues. Participates in the negotiations or meet and confer process with employee groups; takes detailed notes for employee investigations and negotiations. Create and prepare correspondence related to bargaining. Assists with developing new job specifications, reviews reclassification requests, and may conduct salary surveys. Review and assist supervisors with responding to grievances and maintain status of communication to ensure timelines within the grievance process.. Demonstrated ability to perform a wide variety of difficult, specialized, and complex technical human resources work, including special studies and surveys. Demonstrated ability to interpret, implement, and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Any combination of training and experience equivalent to two years of college with special coursework in business administration, human resources management, or a related field and five years analytical and complex technical experience in one or more Human Resources functional areas. PeopleSoft experience is highly desirable. Specialized certification in SHRM, CCP, or IPMA-HR is desirable.

Pay Information:
Range 26 ($4,815.71 $8,341.35) per month based on the current ACE Association of Confidential Employees Salary Schedule

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement in accordance with current practice and policies, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the ACE Association of Confidential Employees Handbook. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt and accrues overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
