The Climate, Health, and Environment Epidemiology Research (CHEER) Lab at the University of Alberta is seeking a full-time postdoctoral fellow (PDF) in the area of epidemiology, climate change, and environmental health. The successful applicant will work on various projects investigating the impacts of climate change, air pollution, and other environmental exposures on a variety of health and social outcomes. This fellowship will provide the opportunity to contribute and lead various projects in the field of environmental epidemiology while working with and learning from collaborators across various disciplines.

The CHEER Lab is a highly interdisciplinary research group grounded in environmental epidemiology, with a research focus on climate change, air pollution, psychosocial health, and how these vary across traditionally underserved and higher risk populations. Our ongoing work often intersects with a variety of other fields and methods, including spatial analysis and health geography, biostatistics, surveillance, demography, and environmental science.

The PDF will work under the direct supervision of Dr. Shelby Yamamoto and be provided with a supportive and collaborative research environment to further hone research skills and expertise, develop and share new research ideas, apply critical and creative thinking to address relevant public health issues, and acquire new skills experiences as a researcher.
