Position Overview:
The Outreach Center Support position is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting instructional technology equipment, including computers, LCD projectors, Interactive Television (ITV) and videoconferencing equipment, etc.
This position provides accurate and detailed information to internal and external customers regarding continuing education and credit offerings, provides assistance to Hayward Outreach students, staff and instructors, and maintains files and records.
Hours vary and may include evenings and Saturdays for extended facility coverage, including vacations and/or emergencies.

Qualifications:
1. Two years related post-secondary education plus two years related work experience OR a combination of related work experience and education totaling four years.
2. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
3. Demonstrated organizational skills, dependability, and ability to work independently.
4. Knowledge and proficiency in the use of a personal computer, computer applications, and software.
5. Ability to learn and apply complex policies and procedures.
6. Experience with operating, maintaining and troubleshooting office equipment, preferred.

Physical Demands:
Ability to lift, carry, push up to 50 pounds.

Job Description:
Learner Success
1. Provide detailed technical information regarding a variety of continuing education and credit course offerings; refer when appropriate. Handle referrals from other staff and problem-solve issues with students and instructors.
2. Ensure all relevant instructional materials are available and disseminated prior to the start of classes.
3. Assist students as needed; provide a learning environment that supports personal growth and success.
4. Assist and advise students, staff and faculty in the proper use of instructional equipment including ITV, videoconferencing, LCD projectors, and computers.

Operational Effectiveness
1. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot instructional equipment including, but not limited to, computers, ITV, videoconferencing, LCD projectors. Arrange for repairs when necessary.
2. Assist with facility accommodations.
3. Act independently to provide seamless, on-site support of the Ladysmith Outreach Center.
4. Connect with Student Services, Distance Learning, and other staff members throughout the college as needed to meet the technical and administrative needs of instructors, and the educational needs of all students.
5. Collaborate with appropriate staff in the establishment of room schedule assignments. Problem-solve scheduling issues with instructors and staff.
6. Open, close, and secure facility.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
