Applications are currently being accepted for Network Specialist in the Instructional Computing Support department, located at Miramar College. Hours are Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, and may include occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Expertise in managing active directory Knowledge of various programming languages (.NET, PHP, shell scripting) and ability to automate repetitive tasks Experience using databases, such as SQL Server, MySQL, Access, etc., knowledge of basic database design practices, and ability to create various procedures and queries using SQL Experience with virtualization, such as VMWare, Hyper-V or similar Experience with basic network/system administration tasks including user management, backups, enforcing configurations, and deploying OS and applications in an automated manner Experience with Ghost, Deepfreeze and the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit Experience managing network equipment such as switches and routers, including familiarity with configuration through the command line interface Experience with Linux distros, and managing Linux server setups such as LAMP.

Range 30* ($4,728.61 $7,547.92) per month based on the current AFT Classified Unit Office Technical Salary Schedule

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the AFT-Guild, Local 1931 Classified Staff Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt and may accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
