Job Description

This position will be open until filled. Application review will begin 01/16/2020. For full consideration all application related material should be submitted by 01/15/2020.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Teach studio art courses, such as Drawing I and Drawing II, Life Drawing, Fundamentals of Design I (2-D), and Painting.
  • Develop syllabus and course materials; evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies as required by Course learning outcomes.
  • Participate in student advisement, recruitment activities, assessment of student learning outcomes, and program/curriculum development.
  • Participate in school/ department meetings and activities, and serve on department, school, and college-wide committees. Other duties as assigned.
  • Keep regular office hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Fine Arts or a related field and two years of experience in higher education instruction.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree from a regionally accredited college or university with an emphasis in Drawing or Painting.
  • Experience using the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Experience using digital hardware and/or software in the creation of artwork.
  • Experience working with a diverse workforce and/or student body.
  • Three or more years of higher education teaching experience.
  • Evidence of an active exhibition record and/or other art related experience.

    Starting Salary Range

    Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for initial salary placement purposes.
