General Information:
Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the part-time (599 hours/year) position of Emergency Services Equipment Technician at the WITC Ashland Campus.

Position Overview
This position will serve in an equipment technician role to the Emergency Services Specialists across the region. The technician position provides support towards the delivery of Emergency Services coursework in EMS. The technician will be supervised by the EMS Specialist, at the campus which they are assigned, and may also take direction from other EMS managers for special projects.

  • Ensure that all EMS equipment and training props used to deliver classes are properly maintained and repaired as directed and/or in accordance to OSHA, NFPA, DOT and WI Department of Commerce requirement.

  • Cleaning, inventorying, stocking, and repairing of equipment. Update electronic equipment database as necessary and maintain assigned equipment storage areas in an organized manner.

  • Pre-delivery or staging of equipment and support materials to class locations across the district. Organized planning for return of equipment and materials back to proper storage location or next class site. This will be done utilizing vans and pick-up trucks, sometimes towing large trailers.

  • Assist EMS Specialists with ordering of supplies and materials, maintenance of equipment, and upkeep of physical environment.

  • During delivery and pickup of equipment, proper appearance and relationships will be maintained according to WITC dress code and policies.

  • Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 30 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of and experience working with emergency medical equipment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience connecting and hauling trailers
  • Ability to work alone with limited supervision
  • Experience with computers, MS Office, email, internet and electronic filing
  • Certification/training in State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Responder or higher or Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician, Basic or Paramedic
