Business Services Technician - Campus (part-time/1350 hours/year) WITC New Richmond Campus

Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Business Services Manager, the Business Office Technician - Campus is responsible for the daily operation of the campus business office. This position is responsible for campus accounting transactions including cashiering, setting up third party contracts, and preparing daily deposits. This position assists in managing daily college business operations and ensures that college policies and procedures are followed by making judgments regarding the integrity of data submitted at the campus level. The ability to interpret policies, apply business processes and deal with information that is sensitive or highly confidential is essential.

  • Cashier PeopleSoft and departmental payment transactions.
  • Set up and maintain organizational accounts. Create, assign students, and issue billings for third party contracts.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and issues.
  • Provide information to students and others regarding tuition, fees, payment plans, etc.
  • Run queries to monitor student and organization accounts to determine past due fees or payment plan delinquencies. Send Soft or Notice of Intent collection letters.
  • Provide cross-functional customer service to internal and external customers. Assess customer needs and advise prospective and currently enrolled students using knowledge of assessment, admissions, financial aid, orientation, and registration processes and guidelines.
  • Oversee and direct work of business office assistants, work study, and other appropriate staff when applicable.
  • Participate in testing and documenting procedures for new software functionality.
  • Participate in Collegewide and campus committees and teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sitting most of the time. Walking and standing required only occasionally.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in accounting or related field, desired. A combination of education and related work experience totaling four years required. Prior work related experience in customer service and bookkeeping, preferred.
  • Knowledge of, and proficiency in, the use of a computer, computer applications and software, such as email, MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to be detail orientated, well organized, work independently on assigned tasks, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to obtain driver's license and insurance coverage in accordance with WITC policy.
