BERKELEY SOCIAL WELFARE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA SENIOR FACULTY POSITION IN MACRO PRACTICEThe School of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a tenured faculty position at the level of Associate or Full Professor, with an expected start date of July 1, 2018. (Search #JPF01414) We seek to hire an Associate or Full Professor who will lead our field in the area of macro practice in the 21st century. Candidates will be considered for the endowed Milton and Florence Krenz Mack Distinguished Professorship and Chair within the Department of Social Welfare, and also considered for appointment as director of the endowed Mack Research Center. The Endowed Chair is a five-year, potentially renewable appointment reserved for a distinguished scholar whose research addresses cutting edge and innovative issues in the field of social welfare. Basic Qualifications (by time of application): The minimum qualification required to be considered an applicant for the position is a PhD or equivalent degree in Social Work/Welfare or a related field at the time of application. The successful candidate will qualify for tenure at Berkeley and show extensive evidence of high impact, funded research and scholarly work that is focused on macro practice, with an emphasis on issues relevant to social welfare. Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidate will have an active research agenda, achieved substantial scholarly impact in his/her areas of interest, a successful track record in funded research, the ability to teach core courses in the School’s macro practice curriculum, and general expertise in the fields of social work and social welfare, including vulnerable populations consistent with the School’s mission. Also preferred is an MSW degree. The successful candidate will also be considered for the Milton and Florence Krenz Mack Distinguished Professorship and Chair, and director of the endowed Mack Center, which both focus on macro practice.
