Job Summary/Basic Function:
Join a team of people committed to creating the next generation of aviation maintenance technicians.

Ideally located at Paine Field, Everett, WA, Everett Community College's established aviation maintenance technician program is a neighbor to the Boeing Company and in close proximity to over 100 aerospace suppliers.

Our aviation program is a key player in a regional and state-wide effort to build a world class employee base for emerging technologies in the rapidly growing field.

This position is a full time temporary (1 year) position and reports to the Dean of Aviation. The instructor will be responsible for teaching General, Powerplant and Airframe courses with an emphasis determined by program need. Courses follow established course syllabi and curriculum guides.

The successful candidate will possess a combination of technical and professional experiences that demonstrate the ability to: impart energy and enthusiasm into the teaching of aviation technology to a wide range of students from novice to advanced technician; adapt to a variety of teaching situations including a wide range of student preparedness; and successfully interact with supervisors and staff as part of an educational team.

The candidate will demonstrate a dedication to the field of aerospace and to advising students to become globally competitive workers.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree or equivalent.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant rating.
- Teaching experience in academic setting, industry, or military.
- Administrative, Management, and/or Leadership experience including demonstrated ability to work as a team member and team leader; successful supervision of others.
- Five years recent professional experience in aviation maintenance with an emphasis in Powerplant Gas Turbine engine/Reciprocating engine maintenance, troubleshooting and overhaul.
-Demonstrated experience, and/or classroom strategies for, effectively instructing students from diverse backgrounds including differences in culture, heritage, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, and religion.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or greater.
- Teaching experience in an FAA Part 147 school.
- FAA Inspection Authorization.
- FAA Pilot rating(s).
- ASNT Certification, all disciplines.
- Airframe Systems maintenance, troubleshooting and overhaul experience in any aviation field. General aviation, military aircraft, or general transport with a specialty in topics such as composites, avionics, or rotary wing craft will bring added value to the program.
- Experience working with a wide variety of aircraft types.
- Able to demonstrate a laudable safety record.
- Community involvement with local aviation groups and professional organizations.
- Experience working with the costs of parts and repairs and time estimates to job completion.
- A philosophy of education appropriate to a learning-centered community college.
- Commitment to continued updating of skills and training; Involvement in professional activities.

Salary: $59,375 - $62,545 Sept - June + Summer $14,651 Additional teaching loads may be available.
