POSITION: Assistant Professor & Chair, MS-IST Program (FT)

Effective immediately: (FT) Assistant Professor & Chair, Master of Science in Information Systems Technology in Wilmington University's College of Technology – Wilson Graduate Center.

Requirements: The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree (DBA, EdD, PhD, etc.) from a regionally accredited institution of higher education; or have a master's degree and begin course work in a doctoral degree program within the first year of hire with continuous enrollment until degree completion. The candidate must have a record of successful experience in IT/IS; experience in higher education preferred. Must have excellent skills in oral/written communication, customer service, and organization/time management. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with a diverse population. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Must be computer literate and willing to complete Hybrid Online Training (HOT). Must be proficient using all Microsoft Office products. Must become proficient in using Cognos, Canvas, and MyWilmU. Must be committed to team-building and collaboration, as well as maintaining effective working relationships with all staff, students, and stakeholders. Must have a working knowledge of outcomes assessment and program evaluation. Must develop a thorough knowledge of outcomes assessment and program evaluation. Must develop a thorough knowledge of course scheduling procedures and university adjunct faculty/personnel policy. Must develop knowledge and skill in managing student issues and/or complaints and carrying out university policies. Must be able to maintain professionalism in all aspects of the position and exercise confidentiality in all situations.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Essential Functions:

Supervise (select, train, and review) adjunct faculty for the MS-IST Program. This may involve direct, periodic observation of the faculty (including possible co-teaching), and will require proficiency in the use of Canvas, CATS, Cognos, etc.
Ensure compliance with university and program policies and standards.
Teach 5 courses per year, primarily within the MS-IST program.
Work closely with the appropriate faculty/staff to assist with the scheduling and management of all offered course sections within the MS-IST program.
Responsible for reporting such as outcomes assessment, program review, seat count, enrollment, etc.
Communicate program expectations and advise students as needed.
Develop and maintain close and collaborative working relationships with the faculty, academic advisors, and other support staff.
Maintain open, responsive, and timely communications with all stakeholders.
Participate in the development (and teaching) of courses in all formats (hybrid, online, face-to-face, PLA, directed/independent study, experiential, competency-based, etc.).
Represent Wilmington University at meetings/conferences as needed.
Maintain close and collaborative relationships with local colleges/institutions with which Wilmington University has partnerships and/or articulation agreements.
Assist with the review and approval of transfer credits/transcript as required.
Assist in the textbook selection/review process and coordinate the distribution of the latest and appropriate textbook/materials to adjunct faculty.
Attend university-wide faculty development activities and commencement programs, as well as other CoT events.
Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Dean of the College of Technology, such as participating in strategic planning.

Hours of Employment: Generally, Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. However, the incumbent must maintain a flexible work schedule designed around required events and/or meetings as well as the needs of the college and/or the university. Travel to university sites and for professional development may be required.
