Aquinas College invites applications for a tenure-track position in the School of Education focused on secondary teacher preparation.

An ideal candidate will have higher education experience with teacher preparation, as well as experience teaching in middle and high school settings. Candidates will have expertise with regard to secondary curriculum and methods, will be proficient with the latest education technology tools, and will have held leadership roles within the field. Applicants should be knowledgeable about current Michigan teacher preparation and certification requirements. Demonstrated use of educational technology, including online teaching/learning and familiarity with Google applications is expected. An ideal candidate will be eager to support innovative new programming that will address Catholic school staffing needs.

Applicants should hold an advanced degree in education, preferably an Ed.D. or Ph.D. in education. Doctoral students and candidates will be considered, although completion of a terminal degree is expected.

Teaching responsibilities include secondary curriculum and methods courses and core education courses at a standard teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester. Additional responsibilities include: maintaining on-campus office hours, advising and mentoring education students, pursuing scholarly research, strengthening relationships with area K-12 partner schools, and participating in departmental and college-wide service.
