The School of Social Sciences and Professional Studies at Ferrum College is currently seeking to appoint a tenure-track faculty in the Human Performance (HHP) program in Exercise Science at the assistant professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to have a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology or related field, and possess expertise and/or experience in exercise physiology and kinesiology/biomechanics. A demonstrated record of college teaching experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities: TEACHING: The dynamic faculty member will teach courses in exercise physiology, health related fitness, and kinesiology as well as other core courses in the HHP curriculum. Our faculty serve as mentors and advisors to our students and supervise internships. All candidates must provide evidence of ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level and possess a commitment to a robust liberal arts education.

SCHOLARSHIP: A successful candidate will provide evidence of scholarship, publication, and/or presentation activity through appropriate professional venues and involvement in scholarly projects with faculty and students.

SERVICE: Our faculty fully participate in leadership activities and fulfill leadership roles at the College-wide, School, Program, and disciplinary level.
