Detailed Description:
The Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISyE) Department at the University of San Diego is seeking adjunct faculty candidates to teach various courses during Spring 2020 semester, with potential contract renewal into 2020-21 academic year.
Specific responsibilities include:
Course descriptions:
ISYE 350 - Manufacturing Processes: Description, classification and analysis of manufacturing processes used in the transformation of different raw materials (e.g. metals, polymers, composites, etc.) into consumer or capital goods. Topics include: analysis of variables that affect process operations, performance, quality, cost, sustainability and the design of process plans.
ISYE 460 - Operations and Supply Chain Management: Concepts in planning, controlling, and managing the operations function of manufacturing and service firms. Topics include operations strategy, forecasting, capacity, production planning and control, and trends in operations and supply chain management. Emphasis on the development and use of mathematical models and algorithms used to analyze and improve the use of material, labor and information in various processes.
ISYE 492 - Senior Design Project: Capstone Senior design project. Application of principles of Industrial & Systems Engineering from throughout the curriculum to a design project. Written and oral reports, design reviews, final project report and presentation.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering (ISyE is preferred) or a related field, and a Master's degree in any field.
A strong interest in teaching undergraduate-level courses. Prior teaching experience is highly preferred.
Relevant industry experience.
Background check: Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
Degree Verification Requirement: Persons offered employment in this position will be required to provide official education transcripts for degree verification purposes.
Posting Salary:
Per university part-time faculty compensation rates.
