Job Description:


THIS POOL IS VALID THROUGH JUNE 30, 2020. APPLICANTS WISHING TO REMAIN IN THE POOL MUST REAPPLY AND UPDATE THEIR INFORMATION THEREAFTER.

Adjunct Faculty are part time instructors hired on an as needed basis. Please note, positions will be available pending sufficient enrollment. Qualified applicants will be contacted by the academic department.

Massasoit Community College offers two programs, the Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Program (CDEP) and the Massasoit Dual Enrollment Program (MDEP). Dual Enrollment is the teaching of a college course potentially at an area high school to high school students. Students earn both high school and college credit.

We are currently looking for Adjunct Dual Enrollment Instructors who are experienced in teaching college level Speech courses to high school students on an as needed basis. Courses will be taught during the day and will likely be taught in surrounding area high schools located in the south shore.


Requirements:


  • Master's Degree.
  • Commitment to student success.
  • Success working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to balance the rigor of college level work and high school student need.
  • Appreciation of the struggles that inner city high students face.
  • Experience supporting students through transitions.
  • Commitment to the College Mission.
  • Experience with active and collaborative teaching.
  • Willingness to teach in a high school setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching dual enrollment Speech courses.
  • High School Teaching Experience.



Additional Information:


Supervisor: Dean of Humanities and Fine Arts

Semester: Academic Year 2019-2020

Salary: $1,104 per credit, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
