Detailed Description:
The Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science at the University of San Diego (USD) invites applications for a full time Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor (non-tenure-track). Candidate must have the ability to teach across nursing programs, including the Nurse Practitioner Program. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal based on performance, department needs, and funding. The successful candidate will have an earned doctoral degree in nursing, experience teaching in the clinical setting, simulation and online programs.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Earned masters or doctoral degree (PhD or DNP) from an accredited school of nursing program. California RN license. Two years of teaching experience and primary and/or acute care clinical experience or practice. Current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification (PMHNP-BC) required. Dual certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner certification (FNP-BC) preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five years of teaching experience and an active program of research. Experience in simulation. Experience teaching online/hybrid courses. Earned Doctoral degree (PhD or DNP) from an accredited school of nursing. Leadership experience.
Performance Expectations - Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Ability to teach theoretical or clinical aspects of nursing in an innovative learning environment. Ability to teach and evaluate nursing students in a clinical setting.
Special Conditions of Employment:
Successful completion of USDs on-boarding requirements including but not limited to BLS, health requirements, pre-employment background check and drug screen. Degree and license verification.
Tools & Equipment Used:
Computer, classroom technology, and simulation equipment.
Background check: Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
Degree Verification Requirement: Persons offered employment in this position will be required to provide official education transcripts for degree verification purposes.
