Part-Time Design Assistant Intern
Campus Location: Lynn or Danvers
Work Schedule: Varies; 20 hours per week.
Non-benefited position
SALARY: $16.80 per hour. This is a non-benefited position, 20 hours per week.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Assist Tutoring Center administrative staff with promoting Tutoring Center services and making connections with students. The position will include design, communication, and marketing elements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create and post content to Tutoring Center social media sites.
- Create and post flyers and other graphics to promote the Tutoring Center's services and opportunities. Plan out and execute weekly social media posts two to three times a week
- Assist in developing social media and promotion strategy for the Tutoring Center.
- Perform light office tasks as necessary, such as greeting students or answering phones
- Attend required meetings with staff.
- Other duties consistent with the internship role.
Job Requirements:
- An intermediate understanding of major social media platforms including but not limited to creating, posting, interacting, promoting, and sharing different posts including Reels and graphics through the Tutoring Center's social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
- Basic graphic design skills with Canva or similar application to be able to create flyers and graphics for social media posts and other NSCC promotional newsletters
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate qualities of patience and empathy; respect for students of all genders, gender identities, cultural/ethnic backgrounds, ages, and abilities.
- Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations
- Must be a current student at NSCC.
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.
