Position Overview:
Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College is seeking a learning-focused, creative and dynamic individual to teach writing in a lab setting part-time (10 hours per week) at the WITC New Richmond Campus.

Bachelors Degree in Education AND a total of 3 credits of English and or Writing Instruction and/or Teaching Methods or any combination thereof.
One year (2,000 hours) of occupational experience outside the field of education.
Candidates must meet Wisconsin Technical College System Basic Education instructor certification-occupational-documents/basic-education-programs

Masters Degree in above areas.
Background in educational diagnosis, assessment, and instructional methodology for the full range of unique learner needs.
Experience working with at-risk adult students.

Physical Demands:
Exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work.

Job Description:

  • Instructional assignments typically contain classroom contact hours, advising responsibilities, professional development days, and other activities as assigned. All assignments can be completed within the parameters of the College-wide calendar and typical faculty work-week.
  • Instructor is expected to set their own professional goals annually.
  • Instructor is expected to role model the Employability Essentials expected of WITC students:
    o Communicate clearly
    o Think critically
    o Demonstrate professionalism
  • Instructor is expected to learn and use new technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Instructor must be able to work non-standard hours including evening and weekend hours. Instructors must be willing to teach in a variety of learning environments including face-to-face, web-conferencing, and hybrid classrooms.
  • Instructors must be able to travel and teach on WITC campuses besides their home campus if assigned to do so. Driver's license and acceptable insurance coverage are required for bi-weekly expense reimbursement.
