Description & Requirement Looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a background in theory and simulations to carry out analytical and computational studies on the behavior of complex fluids and polymeric materials. In particular, the focus of the research group encompasses modeling the following phenomena: vesicle-surface interactions, flow of multi-phase fluids in confined geometries, chemo-mechanical behavior of responsive polymer gels, behavior of reactive polymer blends, self-healing materials, interactions between membranes and nanoparticles, coupled self-assembly of biological and synthetic macromolecules. The candidate must have a background in theory and simulation, and knowledge of either statistical mechanics, fluid dynamics, mechanics of solids or polymer physics is highly desirable. Position is available from March 2012 and is open until filled.
Application Please send resume to Prof. Anna C. Balazs, Chemical Engineering Department, 1248 Benedum Hall, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA 15261. Prefer to receive information by e-mail. E-mail address is: balazs@pitt.edu (When applying, please mention this ad in TedJob.com)
