Two Full Professor Positions in Information Systems

Faculty of Information Technology at University of Jyväskylä in Finland is
opening at least two positions of

   Full Professors in Information Systems Science (IS)

to be filled as of 1 January 2012 (or as agreed). The professorships will strengthen IS research areas at the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems as well as complement its education in IS.

The professors are expected to lead and develop research and teaching, to participate in international research and education projects, and to supervise master’s theses and doctoral dissertations. Due to the nature of the positions and the discipline, prior experience in international research, research collaboration and research fund raising are advantages to
the applicants.

The selection criteria emphasize the suitability of the applicant’s research and teaching profile for the department’s profile; research activity in information systems science in the recent years, as demonstrated by publications; experience in external research fund raising, research group activities and collaboration with enterprise.

The professor’s job-specific salary component is based on levels 8–11 in the salary system for teaching and research staff at Finnish universities, annual gross salary being round 73 000 euro on an average.
