Applications are being accepted for multiple faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at Vanderbilt Epidemiology Center (www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/epidemiology), Institute of Medicine and Public Health. Currently there are over 50 epidemiologists at Vanderbilt with approximately $120 million in federally-funded research, including multiple large population-based cohort studies with survey data and biological samples from approximately 250,000 study participants. Areas of ongoing research include diet and nutrition, environmental exposures, genetic and other biomarkers for disease risk and progression, health behaviors, reproductive epidemiology, and racial disparities in health outcomes.
Candidates should have a doctorate in epidemiology or a related field with additional training or experience in epidemiologic research. Successful candidates are expected to develop and sustain an independent research program in chronic disease epidemiology. Exciting opportunities exist to work on cohort consortium projects and collaborate with existing faculty on multiple ongoing research projects in epidemiology.
