Description & Requirement Assistant Professor, Special Education
The University of New England Education Department invites applications for a position in Special Education, starting in fall 2009. Responsibilities include teaching courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the department’s campus-based and online-based programs and serve as lead faculty for the online graduate program in Inclusion Education.
Qualifications for tenure-track appointment are a Doctorate in Special Education or related field, evidence of effective teaching, scholarship and service, strong interpersonal and school leadership skills, and experience with online delivery of courses. Candidates with K-12 experience in special education desirable.
Applicants with a Master’s in Special Education will be considered for a non-tenure-track appointment that may be up to three years in duration. Additional qualifications for the Master's Degree candidates are a minimum of five years of K-12 teaching experience in special education, evidence of effective teaching and service, and experience with online delivery of courses.
