PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The University of Texas at Dallas was established in 1969 by Cecil Green, J. Erik Jonsson, and Eugene McDermott, the founders of Texas Instruments.  They envisioned a university that offers innovative teaching and research. UT Dallas has grown from an enrollment of 45 graduate students in 1970 to about 16,000 undergrad and graduate students today.

The iGLEMBA  and GLEMBA programs are part of Executive Education, the School of Management (SOM). The School of Management’s world-renowned faculty, innovative curriculum and outstanding students have led it to national and international recognition. The School of Management, the largest of UT Dallas’ seven schools, was established in 1975 and had a fall 2011 enrollment of more than 6,000, more than half of whom were graduate students

GLEMBA is an established two-year Executive MBA program.  It is a hybrid program, with 5 on-campus sessions for 2 to 4 days and one international trip (lasts about 7 - 10 days). The majority of the class work is delivered on-line.  The location of the international trip varies. It is a 53 credit hour program that results in an MBA degree.  The program has three intakes sessions for participants: August, January and May.  The 3 intakes come together to form 1 cohort during the second year of the program.  The participants must have at least five years of progressive managerial experience.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

If you have a background in administration and more importantly, working in Executive Education, this could be the position for you.  The preferable person will have a PhD degree and experience performing operational assignments such as course design, faculty coordination, managing student issues, and some teaching.  Please note that this position is not tenure track.

The Course Manager will serve as a liaison throughout the Global Leadership Executive MBA (GLEMBA) program for students, faculty and staff.  The Course Manager will work closely with the program faculty and be involved in assisting with course design, providing comments and guidance to the faculty on course materials and the syllabus.  

Furthermore, the Course Manager will work closely with the participants to forms teams; monitor participation; communicate course information to students and staff; and will track participant process and if need, assist with extensions and incompletes to insure they are resolved.  During the course, he or she will provide instructional assistance to students; serves as a moderator and encourages active participation.  

Administrative duties will include assisting the Program Director in developing the curriculum and calendars, selecting faculty and hiring, and communicating the program’s goals and objectives.  The course manager completes and submits all materials for AACSB accreditation for iGLEMBA.  He or she will assist with recruiting, team self-selection in the second year, exit interviews, as well as study tours and other administrative duties as needed.  

The course manager is present at all on-campus retreats, workshops and may be part of recruiting sessions. The position requires a flexible schedule, since some activities may occur during the evenings and on weekends.   

The preferable person will have a PhD degree.  The position salary will range from $60-100K.
