Applicants are sought for a 1-2 year postdoctoral position beginning in Winter-Spring 2010.  

Pursues specialized training and research in epigenetic modulation in human cancers; conducts independent and complex experiments under the guidance of scientific mentor; collects and analyzes data; prepares research results for professional publications; presents seminars on research results; identifies and selects research problems to be studied; assists with grant preparations; prepares data to discuss in lab meetings and scientific conferences; provides assistance and expertise to train co-workers in various techniques.   

Specific Duties:
_65_%        conducts laboratory experiments in molecular biological and animal experiments;
_20_%        organizes and analyzes data; maintains research records using computer software; writes and edits manuscripts;
_15_%        manages research projects; provides leadership to other research team members, including technical assistants, graduate students and undergraduate research aides; directs and designs research projects;

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or other related field required; Experience with various biochemicals, molecular genetic techniques and producing and monitoring cancer animal models are essential. Knowledge in epigenetics and microscopic techniques including methylation analysis, ChIP, confocal microscopy, and flow cytometry is desired. Demonstrated abilities in these areas, clear written and oral communication, motivation toward publication, and teamwork are important for consideration.
