Description & Requirement A postdoctoral position in Theoretical Biophysics is immediately available in the Department of Physics at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, TN, USA. The successful candidate is expected to apply and develop analytical and numerical tools in dynamical systems, stochastic processes, and network analysis to investigate the stochastic dynamics on biological networks. This project includes, but isn’t limited to, nonlinear stochastic dynamics on interconnected networks of cellular signaling/regulatory pathways. The applicant is expected to meet all of the following criteria: (1) Ph.D. degree in Theoretical Physics or Applied Mathematics (2) Extensive experience with computational simulation (preferably parallel computing), (3) Solid background in at least one of statistical physics, nonlinear dynamics, network science, and stochastic processes, and (4) Excellent collaboration and communication skills. A strong desire to understand biological phenomena using quantitative methods is a plus. The present appointment will be for a period of one year and possible for renewal if funds are available. The positions need to be filled immediately.
