Description & Requirement Highly inquisitive Ph.D. candidates or recent postgraduates with strong interest in cancer biology are invited to apply to the laboratory of Dr. Chunling Yi at Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) for postdoctoral fellow positions.
Dr. Yi was recently recruited as a tenure-track Assistant Professor to Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at GUMC, the only NCI-designated Cancer Center in Washington, DC. The Yi lab is interested in dissecting signaling crosstalk between cancer pathways using a combination of molecular, cellular, biochemical and mouse genetic approaches. Dr. Yi’s previous work includes elucidation of a novel signaling cascade that underlies Neurofibromatosis Type II, a rare cancer syndrome that affects primarily adolescents and young adults (Yi et al. Cancer Cell. 2011;19:527-40). Besides basic mechanistic studies, the Yi lab is conducting translational research to develop novel targeted therapeutic strategies, which could potentially be utilized to treat multiple types of human cancers. The successful applicant will have the unique opportunity to select from a wide-range of exciting projects that address fundamental questions of tumorigenesis.
The ideal candidate should have fewer than three (3) years postdoctoral experience and a strong publication record in a related field. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated skills and knowledge in molecular and cell biology, cancer biology, signal transduction, and mouse genetics. Prior experience working with rodents is strongly desired, but not required.
Application To apply, please email: Chunling Yi, Ph.D. (cy232@georgetown.edu); attach CV, Cover Letter (stating research interest, career goals and past accomplishments), and contact information for referees. (When applying, please mention this ad in TedJob.com)
