Dr. Arroyave's group has one position for a postdoctoral associate available immediately.
The research topic is concerned with the simulation of phase transformations in shape memory alloys by means of microscopic simulation methods, ranging from electronic structure calculations based on density functional theory to molecular dynamics simulations using classical force fields.
Candidates should be motivated, demonstrate initiative to pursue original ideas, have a doctorate degree in materials science or related areas, have experience using atomistic (classical or quantum) simulation tools, have programming experience with standard languages for scientific computation (fortran, c++). Experience with the Python scripting language is not required but highly desirable.
