The Biomedical Informatics Training Program at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking outstanding candidates for NLM funded Postdoctoral Research Associate positions. Ideal candidates would have ability to carry out independent research and a strong publication record.

Research areas represented by our faculty include:
- Bioinformatics and Computational Systems Biology
- Intelligent medical training systems and user modeling
- Machine learning and data mining
- Knowledge representation and interoperability
- Clinical translational bioinformatics and biostatistics
- Natural language processing
- Medical imaging development and evaluation
- Dental informatics
- Outbreak and disease surveillance
- Human-computer interaction/User-centered design
Review of applications begins February 1, 2012 and will go on until the positions are filled.
Requirements:
- Post-graduate degree (MD or PhD) and training in Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, or a related discipline.
- NLM fellowship eligibility: US citizen or permanent resident only.
- Ability to independently perform research in one of the above areas of biomedical informatics with mentoring from a faculty member.
- Ability to write and publish journal articles.
