Description & Requirement

A postdoctoral position is open in the Chemistry Department of the Parma University (Italy) in the framework of the project entitled "Investigation of energy and charge flow in new ad-hoc synthesized multichromophores of increasing and controlled complexity: towards knowledge-based systems for organic photovoltaics".

The project, starting approximatively in February 2012, is a collaboration between the Chemistry Department in Parma, the Chemistry group in the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and the European Laboratory for Nonlinear Spectroscopy (LENS) in Firenze. The aim of the project is the preparation of artificial photosysnthetic systems of increasing and controlled size and geometry, their spectroscopic characterization (also with 2D spectroscopy), and the development of theoretical models for the description of the energy- and charge transfer processes.

The candidate, in particular, should be involved in the theoretical modeling part of the project, namely the development of suitable models for the calculation of 2D infrared and visible spectra in inhomogeneous environments, including their dynamics.
