A post-doctoral position is available immediately at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Pharmacy.  Research will focus on characterization of opioid receptors (proteins and function) under oxidative stress conditions to better understand the role of neurodegeneration in pain.  Applicants must have experience with laboratory techniques in molecular biology, cell and/or animal models, study of protein function and expression, ability to work independently and as a team member.  The applicant will be joining a new laboratory.  This is a 12-month position with the possibility for an extension.
The College of Pharmacy is located in Kingsville, a small town about 45 minutes south of Corpus Christi and the beaches of Padre Island.  The area of South Texas is an affordable place to live and has a warm and pleasant climate.
