Description & Requirement Pharmacy Technician Faculty, Title III
This is a 12-month, grant-funded position with full college benefits
Exceptional opportunity to help develop new Pharmacy Technicians by teaching at a progressive, student-centered community college close to the metropolitan Memphis, Tenn., area.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, with a bachelor’s degree preferred and professional certification as a pharmacy technician; at least 3 year’s prior teaching experience preferably at a community college; and a minimum of 3 year’s experience working as a pharmacy technician; and proficiency in Microsoft applications software.
Ability to read/analyze and interpret common reports and legal documents related to the Pharmacy profession. Applicant must exhibit excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Pharmacy Technical faculty member reports to the Program Coordinator for Allied Health with responsibility for curriculum development and revision, instruction, academic advising, and the assessment of student learning and to the Title III Director with responsibility for meeting grant objectives and reporting requirements. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Developing the curriculum for the Pharmacy Technician program, working with the Curriculum Specialist to ensure the integration of basic skills and student success strategies.
• Working with the Curriculum Specialist to develop appropriate and effective assessment strategies to measure student learning.
• Teaching 15 to 18 credits hours a semester or an equivalent schedule of instruction and curriculum development. (schedule may include some evening or weekend hours)
• Identifying clinical sites, executing agreements for students’ clinical experiences, and regularly monitoring student assignments.
• Working with program advisory committee members to ensure the curriculum and learning outcomes reflect current industry needs.
• Maintaining accurate and timely records for grant reporting.
• Submitting monthly grant reports and personnel activity reports.
• Participating in professional development that supports assigned responsibilities.
FLSA Status: Exempt
SALARY: $45,000 with full college benefits.
