Description & Requirement

UMUC’s office of Information and Library Services is currently seeking a Library Associate.  The Library Associate will report to the Document Management Librarian.  Specific responsibilities include:

•        Coordinating day-to-day circulation and interlibrary loan/document delivery Inter Library Loan (ILL) services

•        Providing reference and instruction services for UMUC’s students via in-person interactions, phone, e-mail, and instant messaging

•        Training all student employees, document management paraprofessionals and personnel in document management operations

•        Overseeing/complete processing, shipping data-entry, report generation, data tracking and retrieval related to ILL and circulation processes

•        Performing other job-related duties as assigned

Requires a Bachelors degree and one (1) year of experience working in a library.  Successful candidate must have experience working in a customer service environment and have knowledge of basic computer functionality and word processing.  Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills are also required.  Experience with circulation processing with Ex Libris’ Aleph 500 system, and ILL processing will ILLiad is preferred.  One (1) or more years experience working in an academic or special library is also preferred.

Salary:  Commensurate with experience
