Description & Requirement

The Office of Information Technology is currently seeking an IT Storekeeper III to assist the Asset Inventory Specialist by receiving goods and services, tagging assets as required by UMUC policy performing data entry of asset information, and maintain receiving records in electronic files.  Specific responsibilities include:

•        Receiving and inspecting shipment of goods and services to UMUC IT department for compliance with delivery documents, purchase order specifications, etc; making certain that all items are free of damage; receiving items in PeopleSoft

•        Preparing and executing shipments of goods from UMUC IT to directed locations via deliver service

•        Ensuring optimal inventory levels of printer toner and other supplies as directed; authorizing release of materials from standing purchase orders, receiving supply orders; monitoring toner levels using software tools provided to ensure toner is provided when needed and that maximum benefit is received from inventory

•        Performing field audits of sensitive equipment as directed, scanning bar-coded asset tags and updating asset information as to locations and other required fields as needed; transporting equipment from one UMUC site to another; assisting with disposal of surplus, outdated equipment

•        Updating sensitive equipment records based upon information received from PC Support departments and other departments in IT

•        Performing other job-related duties as assigned

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in storekeeping, or inventory and receiving in a mid-large size organization.  Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of the procedures and practices of issuing and storing supplies, materials, and equipment.  Ability to perform basic mathematics; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to follow directions; to operate warehouse material handling equipment; to operate computers and other standard office equipment; to perform extensive standing, walking, and climbing; to lift, transport and stock assigned supplies and materials; to wear and work in personal protective equipment.  Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs is required.  Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. Qualified candidates will have; and demonstrated computer literacy.  Salary is commensurate with experience.
