Description & Requirement Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) invites nominations and applications for the position of:
Industrial and Systems Engineering Program Director
Founded in 1969, Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) is located in San Pedro Garza García, a suburb of Monterrey, México. This community has one of the highest human development index nationwide and the leading income per capita in the country. UDEM offers 35 baccalaureate, 17 master's degrees, 27 medical specialties, and it´s accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Design, implement and assess the academic program so as to keep it updated and with full response capacity regarding the needs and demands of the work field.
•Manage both the curriculum and the performance of other activities of the position, such as budget preparation, program resources management, statistical analyses and reports.
•Consolidate both the processes and the results in order to reaccredit the programs at a national level and seek their accreditation at an international level.
•Conduct and assure the tutorship and consultancy functions, for the students to achieve the program’s objectives and for them to develop their top potential as well.
•Maintain close connections with the region’s industry so as to coordinate research, development and innovation projects. Detect and attract opportunities for placement of students and graduates as well.
Basic Qualifications:
•Master degree in Industrial and System Enginering, Mechanical Engineering or related areas (Doctoral degree in Engineering preferred).
•Teaching experience for at least five years in higher-education institutions.
•Outstanding oral and written communications skills in Spanish and/or English.
•Proficiency in English as second language.
Additional Qualifications:
•Excellent teaching skills.
•Impact and influence with the students, initiative, networking, personal development, service-oriented attitude, colaborative work and innovation.
•Proven ability in effective human and material resources management, in the implementation of challenging projects with institutional impact, as well as in handling and control of various tasks. Desirable experience in dynamic fundraising and development activities.
•It is desirable to have consultancy and/or research products, or else to prove the ability to generate them.
•Ability to create a professional network in order to facilitate the linkage and the internationalization of the academic program.
•Full and exclusive time availability.
•Commitment with UDEM’s values, principles, purposes and objectives.
