Description & Requirement The School of Health and Human Services seeks an Enrollment Counselor to support the Nursing program students, through recruitment, outreach, and academic advisement activities and provide administrative support to the department's staff and faculty including:
- Providing students information regarding nursing program curriculum, pre-admission requirements and transfer credits, benefits and cost to prospective and current students
- Organizing, scheduling, maintaining and facilitating the Pre-Nursing Forums offered in person and online and program orientations; scheduling, proctoring and scoring TEAS exams and essays.
- Assisting prospective students with the application process including completion of data entry necessary for processing applications as well as answering all incoming calls and emails regarding program requirements, etc.
- Coordinating and scheduling clinical placement of all students, including collecting and submitting clinical paperwork to healthcare agencies.
- Maintaining and scheduling nursing courses for all students as well as enrolling students into classes; maintaining the master cohort schedule and database.
- Collecting and inputting lead tracking data and proactively follow up on qualified leads to maximize conversions.
- Maintaining and applying current knowledge of NU catalog, policies, procedures and standards and changes as they pertain to the advisement of prospective and current students regarding admissions requirements, transfer credit, academic standards, course scheduling, retention practices and effective problem-solving techniques.
- Representing the University at professional organizations, high schools, community colleges, special events, educational fairs, and community expositions, and other outreach events.
- Serving as the liaison between students, faculty, and external entities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or relevant experience and progress toward degree achievement.
- Minimum two years of successful experience in marketing, academic counseling, customer service or personal selling including extensive phone contact and interviewing; prefer experience recruiting, advising and servicing students from a diverse population, in an educational setting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including interpersonal relations and skilled listening, with an ability to interview effectively, problem solve and maintain professional demeanor, and a high sense of ethics.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently; must be detail oriented.
- Must work well independently yet and willingly take direction.
- Must be able to work weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- Must be able to travel up to 20%, to other sites to assist with programs, training, forums or other program related activities.
