Description & Requirement

The University of Kentucky, Center for Applied Energy Research (CAER) anticipates adding a post-doctoral engineering/scientist position in the carbon capture and energy areas.  The new position will be involved in studies related to electrochemical applications for CO2 capture systems.  

Postdoctoral Scholar.   Engineers/scientists added to this program will be responsible for developing electrochemical processes and electrode materials for clean-up and regeneration of CO2 capture solvents.  Experience with electroanalytical techniques, such as cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry, is required with experience in the synthesis of carbon materials, ceramics, and/or catalysts desired.  Knowledge of activated carbon with regard to electro-adsorption and analytical skills including XRD and SEM would be beneficial.  A Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry from an accredited institution is required.
