INSTITUTIONAL OVERVIEW"

"The University of Atlanta: Where New Intellectual Journeys Begin"

The University of Atlantafounded in 2006, is a distinctive institution of higher education, recognized by the US Department of Education, by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation, the American Council of Education, UNESCO, the Department of Veterans Affairs, among others. The University is institutionally and programmatically accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC), and offers cutting-edge programs in a spectrum of highly marketable fields at the Bachelor’s Graduate Certificate, Master’s and Doctoral degree levels.

A young university of standing, currently in a mode of enhancement and expansion, U of A surges forward: a recently-appointed leadership team of recognized specialists, a rapidly-expanding international faculty (of whom 100% hold doctoral degrees, evidence expertise in online education and manifest a proven commitment to student success), and new initiatives for 2010-2013 (including expanded curricular options at the undergraduate and graduate levels; enhanced  modes of interactivity among program participants, augmented global affiliations) notably signal the forward direction of the University and its unwavering commitment to excellence.

Strategic outreach initiatives have been specifically fashioned so as to substantiate that all programs are available and accessible to broad national and international student populations world-wide who manifest the desire and capacity for higher learning. A powerful, multi-faceted support system is in place to foster success of students and to maximize the university experience.

A host of recently-developed initiatives (the founding of a new Monograph Series -- six series, each registered with the US Library of congress, the establishment of a university-sponsored journal, Virtualities: International Review of Distance Learning -- Library of Congress ISSN: 1941-7373, the inauguration of a new annual symposium series on Distance and Blended Learning, the naming of Provostial Fellows in recognition of outstanding achievement and promise, as but several of many examples) signal the breadth and scope of the university's forward directed vision, its unwavering commitment to the high-pitched standards, to accelerated momentum as well as its resolve to offer programs of top-tier caliber via the most progressive and effective modes of delivery.
