Description & Requirement

The Director, Customer Relations will be responsible for providing effective managerial support to the Bursar, and the Office of Student Accounts (OSA) operations to include staff of multiple units at both Adelphi and Largo.  Reporting to the Interim Bursar, the Director, Customer Relations is also responsible for providing customer relations, student accounting operations and disenrollment. The successful candidate will be a key member of the OSA management team.   The Director, Customer Relations will also play a key role in the implementation of an electronic billing and payment system; and the implementation and subsequent operations of the OSA DMS system. Specific responsibilities include:

•        Providing managerial support to Bursar for customer service and operational issues/initiatives; representing the interests of OSA in meetings with other department operational leaders

•        Managing operational functions and staff of multiple units at Largo and Adelphi, including disenrollment

•        Managing relationship with and productivity of external vendor for OSA student servicing/calls; resolving all student escalations requiring management intervention, including those involving coordination with overseas divisions

•        Serving as key management resource for the implementation and continued operations of OSA DMS system

•        Performing other job-related duties as assigned

Travel is required.  Requires a Bachelor degree or equivalent and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in management (within an accounting or finance office) including at least two (2 ) years of supervisory experience, the majority of which involved customer service management.  Prefer candidates with experience in a Bursar or Financial Aid Office.  Also requires good understanding of OSA policies and processes as well as regulatory and compliance practices; above average knowledge of student financials functionality in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system; ability to interface effectively with all levels of management; excellent problem solving, project management, customer service, team building, organizational and interpersonal skills; demonstrated high level of initiative; and strong management and supervisory skills.
