Clinical Coordinator - Medical Billing & Coding

Coordinates effective communication between clinical affiliates, department program chair, students, and mediates conflict
Prepares appropriate clinical schedules and submits in timely fashion
Prepares appropriate institutional reports and maintains summary of updated clinical information
Establishes contracts and maintains affiliate clinical sites as deemed necessary by the educational curriculum
Ensures continued developing and updating of the clinical education portion
Advises the Program Chair of the general effectiveness in clinical education portion of the program
Establishes and maintains a master plan of clinical rotations for students
Assists the Program Chair in developing, reviewing, and updating the clinical educational objectives and competencies in accordance with recommended accreditation standards
Coordinates and evaluates the clinical education components
Maintains documented safety records for the clinical education portion of the program
Teach courses as assigned by Program Director up to the maximum number of contact hours allowed by current accreditation
Manage the clinical component of program including assignments, documentation, and development of new affiliations
Actively engage in retention activities including documented communication with both students and administration regarding attendance and progress
Provide assistance for the planning, development and maintenance of program curriculum
Work with the Program Director to resolve student concerns
Provide annual documentation of continuing professional growth
Attend scheduled program meetings, College in-service workshops and college-wide faculty meetings
Required Skills
Prior post-secondary teaching experience as a student-centered, retention-focused educator preferred
Documented expertise in subject area
Demonstrated expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills
Required Experience
Associates degree is preferred
Minimum of 3 years of industry experience required
CPC, CCS, CCA, RHIA, RHIT or HIM certifications through AHIMA required
