Certified Nursing Assistant/Health Technology Instructor

This is a full-time, 10-month position with full college benefits.

Qualifications: Candidates must be a Registered Nurse with an associate’s degree in nursing required (BSN preferred), active license in good standing in the State of Arkansas, and previous teaching experience, preferably at a community college.  The candidate must possess a minimum of two (2) years nursing experience including at least one (1) year in the provision in long-term care nursing services within the last five (5) years. Experience may include, but is not limited to, employment in a nursing assistant education program or employment in or supervision of nursing students in a nursing facility or unit, geriatrics department (excluding geriatric psychiatry), long-term acute care hospital, home care, hospice care or other long-term care setting. Other qualifications include evidence of ongoing commitment to professional development and to student learning and goal achievement. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications programs is required, and previous use of Campus Cruiser or another LMS is a plus.
 
Responsibilities: Reports to the Program Coordinator for the MSCC Technical Center with responsibility for instruction and clinical oversight of high school students enrolled in the MSCC Technical Center and college students, as well as curriculum development, assessment of student learning, assistance with Skills USA activities for high school students, and oversight of laboratory supplies and equipment. Preference will be given to candidates who understand active learning and divergent learning styles, and who can develop computer-based learning modules to support classroom instruction. Other duties include, but are not limited to, recruiting, service on college committees, academic assessment, and academic advising. Teaching schedule may include evening or weekend hours.
