The Department of Urologic Surgery's SimPORTAL seeks an outstanding scientist with excellent leadership qualities to serve as assistant professor (non-tenure track) and as a researcher in the area of medical simulation. This individual is expected to lead the technical team performing research, development and implementation of medical models and provide simulation techniques for a real-life surgical learning environment.
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, mechanical engineering or Biomedical Engineering or a related area; fluent programming skills; advanced texturing and modeling with experience in FEM, mass-spring and meshless methods rendering. Haptics research and at least 3-years of experience with medical simulation is a pre-requisite.
