Assistant Professor of Dance/ Tenure track position, UNC Charlotte, Department of
Dance. Nine-month appointment beginning August 2011. Primary Responsibilities:
Teach two sections of general education course: Arts and Society: Dance, a survey of
dance from a global perspective and dance history and/or theory. Advise undergraduate
and graduate students. Serve on committees for department, college, and university.
Required: PhD in dance or related field i.e. cultural studies, philosophy, women’s
studies; MA, MFA, EdM in Dance; University teaching experience with
lecture/discussion courses. Additional Experience: Teach and/or stage World dance
forms; create concert choreography as an embodiment of research; utilize advanced
technology as a tool for teaching in a Learning Management System such as Moodle.
