DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
Assistant/Associate Professor: The Department of Psychology at the Rochester Institute of Technology anticipates an opening for Fall, 2009, pending budgetary approval. The successful candidate will complement the Department’s existing areas of expertise such as Perception, Cognition, Clinical, Biopsychology and Experimental Psychology broadly defined (see the department website, http://www.rit.edu/cla/psychology/).
The position requires a strong commitment to teaching, active research and publication, a readiness to attract external funding and a willingness to serve. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in securing funding and scholarly publication. Teaching will include undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Experimental/Statistics, core courses in Psychology, and other courses as needed. Faculty are expected to supervise undergraduate students in research. Depending on the candidate’s qualifications, there may be the opportunity to teach in the M.S. Program in Applied Experimental & Engineering Psychology. Additional responsibilities will include: conducting other scholarly activities, advising, and preparing students for productive careers. Ph.D. in Psychology and publication record in field of interest required.

THE COLLEGE/ DEPARTMENT:
The Department of Psychology is part of the College of Liberal Arts at RIT. This College hosts a variety of programs in the social sciences and humanities. More than 650 Undergraduate students and several M.Sc. programs are members of the College.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Ph.D. in Psychology and publication record in field of interest.
Preferred: Peer-reviewed publications in Psychology journals, evidence of teaching experience, student supervisory experience, record of extramural funding to attract such funding.
