Description & Requirement TCU Department of Theatre invites applications for a dynamic teacher of Musical Theatre and Acting for a newly-created, full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Theatre, specializing in Musical Theatre. The TCU undergraduate theatre program offers the BFA and BA degrees in a liberal arts curriculum and seeks a collaborative colleague who is an outstanding classroom teacher. Position begins August, 2012. Qualifications: Terminal degree (MFA or Ph.D), or significant professional experience, required. Minimum of 3-5 years university teaching experience preferred. Professional theatre experience in Musical Theatre is also highly desirable. Required Duties: Regular teaching of various undergraduate courses which may include Musical Theatre Performance, Acting, general education courses in Survey of Musical Theatre and/or Survey of Theatre, and Musical Theatre Dance. Regular assignments of directing, choreographing, vocal coaching, and/or music direction are possible. Professional activity in scholarship and service are required, in addition to teaching. Preferred Specialties: The successful candidate will have strengths in one or more of these specialties: Musical Theatre performance, choreography and Musical Theatre dance, vocal coaching of singers, and/or music direction.
