Description & Requirement Regent University is a SACS accredited Christian University with a commitment to scholarly integrity and academic excellence. The School of Communication and the Arts is seeking a full-time faculty member in the area of animation/cinema studies within the Department of Cinema Television. Initial appointment is for one year starting August 15, 2011.
Qualifications:
PhD or MFA in animation or related field of study with significant animation industry and/or teaching experience.
Knowledge, skills and experience with story, character development and 2D animation preferred. Toon Boom, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere software experience is required. Strong drawing and traditional art skills are required. Maya experience is considered a plus. Duties include teaching and advising at the undergrad level as well as serving on various committees, portfolios, senior projects curriculum development and industry liaison activities. Professional experience in the field of 2D & 3D art and animation is a plus.
