Exceptional opportunity to help build new programs in Pharmacy Technician and Respiratory Therapy at a progressive, student-centered community college close to the metropolitan Memphis, Tenn., area.

SUMMARY: Applicant must provide expertise and leadership related to instructional design and curriculum development for the development of new programs in Pharmacy Technician and Respiratory Therapy.  Specifics duties include training faculty to integrate basic skills and learning support strategies into the Allied Health curricula in traditional classroom, lab, and electronic formats to provide students with recursive learning opportunities via a variety of delivery formats to ensure student learning, retention, and success.  Support faculty by providing professional development and growth activities, with a focus on best practices for teaching and delivery of courses.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree, with doctorate preferred, in curriculum and instruction or instructional technology with an emphasis on contextualized learning or related field; at least three years of experience in curriculum design; proficiency in Microsoft applications software and a learning management system.  Experience in training peers and other professionals.  Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working in Allied Health fields.

Ability to read/analyze and interpret common reports and legal documents related to the Allied Health profession.   Applicant must exhibit excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.  Applicant must be able to effectively present information to faculty, staff and committee and/or board members

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Student Support/Curriculum Specialist reports to the Director of the Title III grant with supervisory responsibility for the development of curriculum and embedded academic support strategies for the Pharmacy Technician and Respiratory Therapy programs and  for faculty development related to curricular development and instructional regulations. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop an integrated curriculum development plan for the targeted programs that prepares students for certification examinations.
• Assist faculty with the development of assessment instruments that reflect the curriculum and validate learning.
• Work with program advisory committee members and clinical site personnel to ensure learning activities and objectives reflect workplace expectations for entry-level employees.
• Work with student support personnel to reinforce academic success strategies into the allied health curriculum.
• Maintain accurate and current records for grant-reporting needs.
• Provide monthly reports and personnel activity reports to the grant director.
• Establish and implement procedures for curriculum evaluation and revision, including tracking student performance.
• Participate in professional development opportunities related to assigned responsibilities.

FLSA Status:  Exempt

SALARY: $65,000 with full college benefits.
