Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide, Department of Aeronautics invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the Aviation/Aerospace sciences field.  Experience in Aviation Safety, Transportation, Space, Disaster Preparedness/Emergency Management, Aviation Maintenance, Unmanned Aerial Systems and/or Security is desired.

NO RELOCATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.
   
Detailed Description:
Duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the Aviation/Aerospace field.  Courses will be taught via traditional classroom delivery and established hybrid and online learning technologies.  Duties will also include curriculum development, research, student advising, grant writing, and service to the University and community.

The Department of Aeronautics is a strongly interdisciplinary program featuring a Master of Aeronautical Science degree and undergraduate degrees in Professional Aeronautics, Transportation, Aviation Maintenance and Aviation Maintenance Management.  Programs under development include: graduate degrees in Security & Intelligence and Occupational Safety Management, and an undergraduate degree in Security & Intelligence.  A Ph.D. program was launched in January 2010.  In addition to its Worldwide on-campus education programs, the University has a large online education program, with a student body (both on campus and online) comprised mostly of highly motivated career professionals seeking a degree for professional advancement or personal interest.  The student body is composed of active duty military personnel, those currently employed by the aviation/aerospace industry, and individuals with a deep interest in aviation, who come from a variety of backgrounds.  Our student body also has a strong international component with both on-campus and online students from a number of nations.

Job Requirements:
Candidates must have an earned doctorate, academic and professional/scholarly experience in an aerospace/space discipline, a strong background in research methodologies and publications, a broad insight into the interdisciplinary nature of aeronautics/aerospace activities, and a strong interest in developing collaborative research projects in those fields as they relate to the use, development and exploration of aeronautics/aerospace is expected.
