Vancouver Campus | Summer 2012
Fairleigh Dickinson University is the largest private (not-for-profit) university in the state of New Jersey (USA) with approximately 13,000 graduate and undergraduate students and more than 100 degree programs ranging from the Associate of Arts to the Doctor of Philosophy. The University was founded in 1942 and has four campuses.
The University's two largest campuses are located in New Jersey: the Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck-Hackensack (near New York City) and The College at Florham in Florham Park-Madison. Its two remaining campuses are international: one in Wroxton, Oxfordshire, England (established in 1965) and the other (its newest campus) in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (established in 2007).
The University's Vancouver campus offers accredited undergraduate degree programs with majors in Business Administration, Information Technology, & Individualized Studies, as well as a graduate program in Administrative Sciences. The Vancouver campus has an excellent and dedicated core of full-time and part-time faculty; a new, state-of-the art facility; small class sizes; close working relations between students, faculty and staff; and an intensive student support system focused on individual student success.
FDU-Vancouver is seeking to expand its sessional lecturer pool for the following courses during the Summer 2012:
INFO-3205 DIGITAL MEDIA PUBLISHING
The world has changed and the printing presses have been replaced by digital media creation and distribution. We'll discuss printer media, multimedia and the latest in digital media publishing. The most popular platforms will be covered in detail including Dreamweaver and Flash as examples of best of breed development tools. Topics covered include audio, image and video processing and compression. This course is also intended to provide students with hands on experience with publishing software, presentation software, and Webpage authoring software and resources.
INFO2106 Web Site Design and Management
This course introduces students to the principles of website design and management, business applications and security, and e-commerce. Students study graphic web design concepts such as usability and scalability. They learn how to create interactive web applications, enhance web pages with dynamic images, implement a web server and integrate the website with a database management system.
QUALIFICATIONS
You should have at least completed a Masters in the area(s) given above or a PhD (ABD). Related work experience would be highly preferred.
