Description & Requirement

The Academic Specialist, MAF Program is the main point of contact for faculty, staff, and
students for all administrative and policy issues regarding the MBA Department of the Graduate School.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

•        Advising both prospective and current students and providing related administrative and program support to academic program director and adjunct faculty members

•        Investigating and making decision regarding student complaints and grievances, and managing the department’s transfer credit process

•        Managing the Management, Accounting and Finance  department’s Writing Tutor Program  by recruiting new tutors; supervising current writing tutors and overseeing their work students

•        Developing, maintaining, and updating a Web Tycho based Tutor Resource Center; creating and updating training materials such as a tutor program manual and tutor expectations and guidelines

•        Facilitating expansion of the writing tutor initiative to other introductory courses in the department

•        Proofing, editing and updating departmental print publications and web-based materials; assisting the Dean’s office as needed in managing/editing publications and web based materials for the Graduate School of Management & Technology

•        Performing other job-related duties as assigned

POSITION AVAILABLE:   Immediately and Will Close May 14, 2010

SALARY:  Commensurate with Experience

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred, with a minimum of three (3) years of general administrative working experience with increasing responsibilities; excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and a collaborative team-based work style is required.  Higher education experience in administration and/or advising students is preferred.
