Description & Requirement Lincoln Christian University seeks qualified applicants for Academic Dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies, effective June 1, 2012.
Qualifications: doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in higher education or in a subject area related to the University’s academic programs, significant experience in both academic administration and classroom teaching, evidence of educational leadership in scholarly, professional, and academic accomplishments, and interest in online instruction. Volunteer or professional church ministry experience highly valued. Salary and rank for the faculty position are commensurate with educational qualifications and professional experience. The Academic Dean assumes responsibility for the academic administration of the School of Undergraduate Studies within Lincoln Christian University. The position reports to the University Provost, oversees faculty assigned to and teaching in the School and other support staff, and works closely with members of the Provost’s Academic Council, undergraduate field chairs, and other University departments. Essential functions of the position include working collaboratively and creatively to ensure that the School achieves its educational goal in support of the University’s mission, developing and mentoring faculty and other academic personnel, providing leadership and oversight in relation to the School’s academic programs and resources, and monitoring and encouraging the academic progress of students in the School.
